The Wake-Up Call 🚨
Y’all, some serious news hit our county this past week, but we’re also seeing our law enforcement shine.
- Quick Action on Beaver Road: On December 5th, the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office responded fast to a domestic shooting incident. Marcus Terrell Wilson (36), a convicted felon, allegedly shot his girlfriend during an argument while her 4-year-old child was home. Our brave deputies, with the help of K9 units and a drone, quickly apprehended Wilson after he fled into nearby woods. The victim is thankfully recovering at Regional One Health in Memphis, and the child was unharmed and placed with family. Sheriff Shannon Beasley rightly praised the rapid response of his team. Our community’s safety is always top priority.
- Heartbreaking Animal Cruelty Investigation: There’s also an ongoing investigation into a distressing animal cruelty case. Authorities discovered a dog deceased and another barely alive in a kennel without adequate food, water, or shelter. Warrants have been issued for Carol Mullen for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Our hearts go out to these innocent animals. If you have any information, please reach out to local law enforcement. Let’s work together to protect all creatures in Tipton.

- Celebrating Our Stellar Teachers! ✨ Huge congratulations to our Tipton County Schools’ District-Level Teachers of the Year! Shoutout to Stephanie Stewart (BMS), Leah Arthur (BES), and Cindy McClain (CHS) for bringing their “Heart, Humor, and Hands-On Learning” to our students every single day. They’re featured on this week’s TCS podcast with Dr. Combs and Phil Ramsey – go give it a listen and show them some love! We are so blessed to have them shaping the minds of our next generation.
- The “Coca-Cola Home” Spreading Christmas Magic! 🎄 If you’ve driven down Hwy 59 recently, you’ve probably smiled at the stunning Christmas lights on the beloved “Coca-Cola home.” Mary Sutton shared on social media how much joy this festive display brings, reminding her of the cherished “Christmas City.” It’s truly a Tipton tradition that warms our hearts and brings back all the nostalgic feels. If you know the wonderful folks who put up this display, tell ’em “thank you” from all of us for spreading that holiday magic!
That’s the scoop for this week, y’all! Let’s keep looking out for each other and celebrating the good stuff happening right here at home.
